Competence development and training From the start in 1988, the ViaNova companies’ basic idea has been to combine competence in transportation with information technology ( IT). This is also the reason why our training staff is always up to date when it comes to expert knowledge in transportation. In addition to the permanent employees in the training group, we draw on several hundred specialists in the ViaNova network, who cover all fields within transportation design and IT-system implementation. Our training staff does classroom courses, training assistance on projects, specially aimed courses and the development of training material. The group has also started to work on the development of training in relation to the introduction of big development projects aimed at organisations such as the Norwegian Railway Administration in relation with a new national railway data bank, the introduction of new planning tools at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, co-operation about credits at engineering schools etc. The group also develops interactive courses and e-learning courses. A Scandinavian user newsletter and seminars and user meetings with 20 to 300 participants in the countries our products and services are into, are also part of the group’s responsibility.
